We were a group of 20 architecture and interior design students from Germany, and we had the privilege of spending ten incredible days exploring Nepal with the support of Destination Management Inc. From start to finish, the trip was perfectly organized and thoughtfully structured. Our guide Gupta Bhandari and his team were the heart of this journey—they weren’t just guides, but true companions who opened up the country to us in the most meaningful way. We learned so much about Nepal’s architecture, culture, and traditions, but we also learned something deeper—about life, humility, and gratitude. Our guides inspired us with their warmth, knowledge, and the way they live with purpose and joy. One of the most touching experiences was visiting remote schools and orphanages, where the children’s joy over our visit was truly moving. We also had the chance to immerse ourselves in daily life and saw how people cherish what they have, even when it’s not much by material standards. We explored the major cultural landmarks in Kathmandu, including its breathtaking temples and stupas, participated in a yoga session, learned to cook traditional Nepali dishes, and even went trekking in the last two days. In just ten days, we experienced more than we ever imagined. This journey changed us—not only as future architects, but as people. A special thank you also goes to Gupta’s son, Ananda, who took time out of his own schedule—without any obligation—to show us the local hotspots in Thamel and was always there to help us whenever we needed anything. That kind of generosity and openness truly made us feel welcome. Huge thanks to Destination Management Inc. and especially to Gupta for making this such a meaningful and unforgettable experience. Highly recommended from all of us in Germany!
